This five-day hands-on course provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to plan, deploy, configure Operating System Deployments (OSD). The course begins with an overview of Configuration Manager 2012 and its goals, as well as an explanation of how it fits into the broader System Center product suite. It then introduces each of Configuration Manager 2012's most compelling feature sets, Operating System Deployment (OSD). Topics include planning, design, and implementation of OSD and the integration points with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT). Students will learn how to use Configuration Manager 2012's capabilities to provide zero-touch, lite-touch, network boot capabilities, and stand-alone media deployments.
Prerequisites: Student should have experience or training in the following areas before taking this class: Networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration protocol (DHCP), Active Directory, Windows Server management, basic Windows deployment concepts, and management of Windows clients.
